What a devastating news week this has been. First the unfathomable downing of the Malaysia Airlines passenger jet which was fired on by a missile, then the escalation of fighting in The Holy Land which has resulted in closing the International airport in Tel Aviv for many inbound and outbound flights. I won't for a minute believe that God caused any of this but I do believe that God has a hand in the healing of the hearts of people. I know that there are many broken bodies but also broken hearts. For all of the families affected by the terrible airline disaster....heal their hearts. For all of the people affected by the continued war in Israel and Palestine, heal their hearts and heal their land.
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8 NIV
Even though there is pain and destruction all around, try to keep yourself in a peaceful state so that you may pass that peace to others. The world needs it.

Just last week at a prayer service that Robert and I spoke at In Washington D.C....a Palestinian and a Jew lighting a peace candle. Sometimes political interests get in the way of lasting peace. |

There are a lot of tragic events happening in the world and we do need to find peace in our lives.
ReplyDeleteThe people in the Middle East and the families of the plane crashes need our prayers. I miss talking to my dad, who was a minister, about these tragedies.

True words Donna. We must stay positive and not be steeped in the atrocities of militants or other groups. The world is better than centuries past, I believe. Yes, there are bigger bombs and news is instantaneous but that makes us more compassionate as a whole peoples, unified under one God I think. Your Global Peace Conferences or the meeting of an Israeli and Palestinian in Washington shows that goodness is still outshining the wickedness of war and strife. God wants us to Love one another and in the end HIS will is done. Yes there are those who fight peace except 100% their way and after God's peace a later war may happen. But HIS peace can begin with us, one by one, staying positive and loving others as we would be loved.

We have to try to accept everybody around us, respect them. Not judging because they have another opinion as we have and have other goals in their lifes. So outspoken is good, but with respect! We see here what happens with selfish person in the Middle East...!
