New Year's Goals!!

 Happy New Year!

I am filled with hope for 2011 and am off to a running start!   Our financial situation has never been more difficult to deal with so I am "praying like it all depends on God but working like it all depends on me."
I have started a new international business,  have been working hard, and I am filled with faith that this will be my best year ever!   My husband Robert is assisting me and it feels so good to be doing something together again!
Here is a verbal and written exercise I do at the beginning of each new year.  This has been a family tradition since my kids were young and it can really help you start 2011 off on the right foot.
1)  Share your happiest time/best memory of 2010.
2)  Verbalize your goals for 2011.  Write them down and share them with trusted family members or friends.  Keep them displayed in a prominent place where you will be reminded of them daily.  Remember that there is great power in the act of writing what you hope for.   Use paper and a pen.    Only use a computer for the final copy which I frame and post on my office wall each year.
3)  Think big.   No dream or goal is too big if God is in the center of it.  I usually have 10-12 goals for the year.   I don't always accomplish everything but at least I come closer than I would have had I not made them a goal in the first place!
It is tempting to spend time in doubt and worry yet at the end of the day there is no point in it.   I encourage you to make a positive plan for success today.  Write it down,  put it in a visible place, pray about it, stick to it!!
" Our doubts are traitors, that make us lose the good, we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."
Shakespeare       As the Bible puts it...
"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you;  plans to give you hope and a future."   Jeremiah 29:11
God is blessing you.   Donna

  1. That is a great plan, Donna. Thank you for sharing your approach! I know you will find great reward with any plan that puts God into the center! His presence will radiate out and through all aspects of the plan.

I agree writing plans down is so important. It is reinforced in our mind as we write it with our hand, read it with our eyes and "hear" the plan as our inner voice reads it!

Great also to re-focus on the best of 2010! For me that was the arrival of our granddaughter Zoe, a treasure like your Haven.

In my Plan, I have also let go anything that did not get resolved in 2010. I accept and trust that God will adjust any wrong circumstance to be as it should be.

    He is Blessing all, always

  2. Jan-Michael.... You are so gifted with the ability to say exactly the right thing at exactly the right time with exactly the right words. You are a precious gift to us all.....Donna I have been praying intensely for you and Robert all day long and will keep you in my prayers every single day. Everything will work out and your business will be a success because you have put Christ at the center of it all and he will not fail you or allow you to fail yourself. I believe and can say from personal experience, that when we give our fears, hopes and God centered dreams to Him , He listens, supports us and has mercy on us. I speak from experience. I have witnessed miracles in my own life after intense prayer and submitting myself totally to Him (which is sometimes hard to do when you are a go getter and problem solver). I felt at one time that things were so hopeless that we should throw in the towel, so to speak and then I prayed one more desperate prayer (with the added phrase, thy will be done, which I truly meant at that time). We received a lifeline and renewed hope. God is aways with us and I believe he wants us to be successful as long as our ambition isn't ego driven.

  3. Thank you Mary and Jan-Michael-
I appreciate your kind words and encouragement.
I start each day by asking God what his will is....not mine. I have peace in knowing that I can work hard but at the end of the day it is God who has been right there working with me all day long. He will see me (and you) through anything!!
    God is blessing you. Donna
